CEMEX Leading the Way in Cycling Safety Programs in the UK

The UK is known for having some of the busiest, most congested roads in Europe, and not just with cars: the average person makes approximately 14 bicycle trips annually on these crowded roads. Since safety is one of CEMEX’s top priorities, in the UK we are taking the lead in developing cyclist safety programs to help make the UK’s roads safer for all.
Beyond implementing training programs for our drivers and innovations in our Large Goods Vehicles (LGV), CEMEX is working with trade associations such as the Mineral Products Association and the Freight Transport Association, and authorities such as Transport for London (TFL) to help establish industry standards for these vehicles.
For its achievements in UK cycling safety, CEMEX won the country’s “Safety in Operation” award at the annual Motor Transport Awards. Judged by an independent panel of road transport industry experts, CEMEX was recognized for “leading the industry in cycle safety and taking an exhaustive approach to the issue of reducing road risks, focusing on sharing road space.”
